Buying Wind Power in New York City |

New York University said it would buy 118 million kilowatt hours of wind power, the largest purchase of wind power by any institution in New York City. Brooklyn Brewery announced that it would purchase all of the energy it would consume for the next five years from Community Energy, becoming the first brewery in the eastern part of the country to switch completely to wind power.
The Park Slope Food Co-op announced that it be switching to 100% wind-generated electricity from New York and Pennsylvania. The co-op board voted 66-0 in favor of the switch.
The 4th Street Food Co-op is buying 100% of their electric needs from Wind Power.
Monkey Joe Roasting Company, a New York based coffee bean roaster, today announced a wind energy purchase equal to 100 percent of its energy.
The Durst Organization is making an annual purchase of approximately 10.5 million kilowatt-hours of clean and renewable Green Power.
Design and Source Productions has agreed to purchase 100% of its electricity needs from NY based Wind Farms.
Plus more than 6,000 residential customers in NYC. |
